Phil Teschner
Senior Architect

Phil is a Senior Architect at Big Huge Games. You might think that with the title of Senior Architect, Phil is spending his days designing opera houses and skyscrapers. Alas, it is not so. Instead, he is partially responsible for the engine technology at Big Huge Games, or, as it is sometimes called, the engine architecture which would explain his title.

Phil previously worked on numerous games during his ten year employment at Microsoft Game Studios, both as a Programmer in the Flight Simulator group and as a Development Lead in the Games Publishing group.

Before joining the game development community, Phil worked at a startup where he helped to develop a middleware GIS system which saw its use in cell-tower planning software at Qualcomm and Metawave.

Phil received his B.S. in Computer Science from the University of California, San Diego.

Phil is not even American, he was born and raised in Munich, Germany.
