Josh Hardy
Senior Artist
Josh
set off to college with every intention of pursuing a
career in special effects for movies. He studied at UMBC
and with his hands in the effects side of things decided
it might not be a bad idea to take some film classes.
One thing led to another and he ended up just majoring
in both. Once he was finished with college he had a tough
decision to make: venture to the west coast to pursue
a career in film or stick around in MD (his birthplace)
and see what is available on the east.
After spending some time doing independent films and
freelance artwork, fate intervened and his decision
was made for him. During an intense soccer game Josh
broke his leg and was laid up for a few months. During
that time he put together a demo reel and started sending
it out locally. Before long he got a call from Big Huge
asking him to come on in for an interview. Yada, yada,
yada …..3 years go by…..Josh is now the
Lead technical artist at Big Huge Games.
In addition to working on art for their newest projects
Josh also makes sure that the programmers and the artists
play nice together and makes sure the game has all the
latest and greatest technologies for making the art
look as good as it possibly can. In his spare time Josh
has a passion for movies, soccer, snowboarding, mountain
biking, and all other forms of outdoor sports,…..and
of course, just about anything related to games.
