Rise of Nations: Thrones and Patriots, is the expansion pack to the critically acclaimed, best-selling real-time strategy (RTS) game Rise of Nations. Developed by Brian Reynolds and Big Huge Games, Thrones and Patriots adds a multitude of new features to Rise of Nations, introducing six new nations, four new single player campaigns, more than 20 new units, new wonders and an innovative new Government feature. Player's can use governments with any nation, old or new. Governments have far-reaching effects on how units perform in various situations. Each of the six government types also grants the player a unique Patriot unit,  which has a set of special abilities that benefit nearby units or buildings.
All-new single player campaigns will allow gamers to control the course of history during events that changed the world, including Napoleon's campaigns in Europe and the battles for wealth and survival in the New World.
