VS. Opening Reception

Baltimore-based artists working in the visual entertainment fields of video games, comic books, and illustration will exhibit their personal work in VS., a new gallery show at The Windup Space. The opening reception takes place Friday, June 5th from 7-9 pm. Big Huge artists featured in the event include Sean Andrew Murray, Colin Campbell, Jeremy Enecio, Martin Kau, and Kat Berkley.

BHG's Catan Mentioned in Wired Magazine

Big Huge Games' XBLA title Catan is mentioned in Wired magazine's article "Monopoly Killer: Perfect German Board Game Refines Genre." Here's an excerpt...

Teuber created elaborate logic chains and probability matrices in a complex Excel spreadsheet so the videogame developers could see how every possible move and roll of the dice—from the impact of the Robber to the odds of getting wheat in a given scenario—compared. The end result was a sort of blueprint for the game that gave Big Huge Games a head start and showed just how complex the underlying math was. "It was the biggest, gnarliest spreadsheet I had ever seen," Reynolds says.

Rise of Nations Named as "Best of Breed"

USA Today lists Rise of Nations as one of the top five RTS games, placing it alongside other greats such as Starcraft, Age of Empires II, and Command & Conquer. RoN was singled out for its variety of playable civilizations and accessibility for newcomers.
